But seriously, Japan should forget all this “5th Gen” nonsense and get Typhoons. It’s the overall best fighter available for purchase right now (and in my opinion the best fighter ever made).
For the South Islands the Rafale would be better (range 1,852+ km VS 1,389 km, short take off etc).
But for point defense on the mainland, the Typhoon has no peers.
They should get both and we should get some of their wonderful Seaplane for SAR…
What?!?!? They really leave that F-35 expensive adventure?
